Loon
Country is Kosher |
On September 7, 1995 Loon Country®
Natural Spring Water was found to be Kosher by Rabbi Henry J. Issacs. His
letter follows:
-You might be surprised
to learn that "Kosher Certified " does not designate an exclusively religious
process. Kosher certification also represents a strict manufacturing process,
and foods that are labeled Kosher, such as Loon Country®, have adhered
to rigorous quality control. Kosher is a Hebrew word meaning fit. In the
context of the laws of Kashrut, kosher therefore refers to the fitness
of food for the Jewish table. Kosher dietary laws were developed to protect
the Jewish people from unclean food, or those foods which presented health
hazards due to lack of proper sanitation. With the Kosher designation standing
for quality products made with healthy ingredients and strictly enforced
quality control, an increased number of both Jewish and non-Jewish households
are purchasing Kosher food products.
