Loon Country Achievements

Loon Country®  Natural Spring Water has received the Excellence in Manufacturing Award from NSF International and the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA).

The award is considered a benchmark in the bottled water industry and places Loon Country® "in an elite class," said Joel Hall, Operations Manager.

The IBWA contracts with NSF to conduct spot inspections of its member plants. NSF is a quality control testing company that sets standards for excellence in several industries. It judges the site based on cleanliness, quality control, and record keeping.

In order to receive the Excellence in Manufacturing Award, a company must meet all of the control points and score above the 97th percentile on the graded portion of the inspection. The inspection is not announced, and this year was conducted June 16.

In his report, NSF inspector John Goins stated "I am very impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities and the extent of paperwork being kept."

"We're a small Maine micro water company in the scheme of the bottled water market...We're really just starting to grow."

Of the 7,000 plus IBWA member plants, less than 200 receive the Excellence in Manufacturing Award each year, he said.

"Loon Country® works year round to maintain the lofty standards that are required to receive a high score and quality for such a prestigious award in our industry,"company president Gregory Cyr stated in a news release. "I am extremely proud of our management team and employees for their diligence and caring in making LoonCountry® one of the finest facilities worldwide, thereby insuring our customers that Loon Country® products are always of the highest quality."
